We assist our clients in the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and notices required to comply with state and federal law governing the privacy and protection of patient medical information.  This includes addressing the detailed requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).  Our attorneys have developed a number of HIPAA policies and documentation for both institutional and professional provider groups.  We also routinely advise clients about their own and their patients' rights and obligations under HIPAA and their duties with respect to the privacy and security of health information.
