Certificate of Need/Regulatory Proceedings

Attorneys in the Health Care Practice Area represent providers in a wide array of regulatory proceedings.  We are very experienced in Certificate of Need (CON) proceedings before the Connecticut Office of Health Care Access (OHCA).  We have successfully assisted institutions, professional providers, and freestanding facilities in CON matters.  Our work has involved numerous significant matters or cases of first impression in Connecticut.  For example, we represented a nonprofit hospital in all regulatory proceedings attendant to the first and only sale of a nonprofit hospital to a for-profit entity under Connecticut law.

We also regularly appear before professional and institutional licensing bodies.  Our attorneys have represented many providers in professional disciplinary proceedings.  We have been successful in addressing salient scope of practice and CON jurisdictional matters before OHCA  and the Department of Pubic Health.
