Drug Policies and Testing
There are no laws which permit employees to be at work in an unfit condition due to drugs or alcohol. However, Connecticut and Federal laws do protect individuals with certain past histories or present conditions of substance addiction. Connecticut law severely restricts the rights of employers to conduct drug tests, especially random drug tests. We work with our clients so that they understand these laws and, if they so desire, we help them establish testing programs that are permitted by applicable law.
